Why should you support Oar Blimey?
The pandemic affected everyone, but it especially impacted those people living with dementia who lost much of their normal and essential routine. Returning to normality has been complicated with several dementia clubs, meetings and events failing to restart therefore, getting people living with dementia out and about again, giving them some adventure, something to think about and talk about has never been so important.
We are totally dedicated to raising funds and distributing much needed cash to the services which help people live with dementia in our local community. The biggest challenge for Team Oar Blimey is raising £250,000 for local charities to help people live with dementia.
Getting Oar Blimey to the start line took 2 years of planning, training, organising and fundraising. Russ and George self-funded the boat purchase and logistics of this challenge, including: safety equipment, food supplies, training courses, medical equipment and shipping to and from the UK.
Where will your donation go?
Every bit of support for our Atlantic Challenge is extremely welcome.
All donations will help Oar Blimey to raise funds for helping people to live with dementia. With £250,000 shared across our chosen charities Our Dementia Choir and Ladybrook Enterprises Ltd, they can implement tangible improvements in their dementia services.
